SSt products can be developed using a wide range of
electrochemical biosensors. Off-the-shelf biosensors can be used
where suitable. The first SSt product (for infrequent testing in type 2
diabetes and pre-diabetes) will use a commercially available
glucose sensor already in use for frequent daily monitoring of type 1
diabetes.
There are a large number of academic and industrial groups
involved in research and development of biosensors. Future SSt
products will incorporate biosensor technologies either sourced
commercially or developed for SSt. |

SSt's product development will aim to expand on the initial diabetes
and cholesterol products and also develop new product groups.
For disease management, new products will be in areas including
osteoporosis, cancer and infectious diseases.
Future developments will include a number of novel multi-test
concepts.
SSt also intends to develop a range of products that will
support the pharmaceutical industry, for application in clinical trials
testingand for integrated medicine, where drugs and diagnostics
will beoffered as packages.
