There are two kinds of diabetes, type 1 and type 2. Type 2 usually presents in adults and risk factors include age, being overweight, lack of exercise, family history and ethnic origin. Type 2 diabetes can be controlled but not cured. Before developing type 2, people experience "Pre-diabetes", which if detected can be reversed.
