NHS Direct Online is unique in being supported by a 24 hour nurse-backed advice and information help line. If you use NHS Direct Online and are in any doubt about information you read or about what action you should take, you can call NHS Direct on 0845 4647.

There are a number of forms of electronic record in healthcare, many of which can work together.

The Electronic Patient Record (EPR) is a record of periodic care provided mainly by one institution. Typically, the EPR relates to the healthcare provided to a patient by a hospital or other specialist healthcare provider.

The Electronic Health Record (EHR) is a life-time record of a patient's health and healthcare. It combines information about a patient's contact with primary healthcare as well as information associated with periodic specialist and other care, held in EPRs.

SSt will host an EPR for users of our system, which will record and compile diagnostic test results and other information. This information can be imported into a user's EHR where appropriate.
